Our Duchess made a surprise appearance at the famous Fashion Awards 2018 at Royal Albert Hall in London. She was there to present her friend Clare Waight Keller with the British Designer of the Year Womenswear Award. Clare designed Meghan’s wedding Givenchy gown earlier this year.
For the event, Meghan was wearing a black Givenchy dress and we can see her baby bump getting bigger now, this is exciting!

As the title already tells you, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, makes history as the first royal member to be nominated for the Teen Choice Awards for this year’s show. Congratulations!
She’s definitely known for her elegant style and fashion and has already gained positive compliments from all over the world. Now, less than eight months after she and Prince Harry announced their engagement, her fashion makes history as she has just been announced a nominee for the Teen Choice Award 2018 for Choice Style Icon. This is the first time a royal family member has ever been considered for an award for the U.S. show, which started in 1999. In case Meghan wins the award, it’d also be a first and people are already debating whether she’d attend or perhaps record a video acceptance speech for the honor.
Unlike many other award shows, the Teen Choice Awards are open to voting by the public. You can vote for Meghan or any of the other nominees by clicking here. Make sure to vote, she truly deserves the award.
This is the Duchess’ first award nomination since becoming a royal, but not at all the only award for which she’s in consideration. She was submitted for the Emmys’ Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category by USA Network for her work as Rachel Zane on Suits. Meghan doesn’t have the Emmy nomination yet though; those will be announced on July 12. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the Duchess of Sussex for both nominations.
Kensington Palace has officially announced that Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex will be attending the Queen’s Young Leaders awards at Buckingham Palace next Tuesday, June 26. This event marks the second engagement with the matriarch over the span of just two weeks.
The awards will recognize a select group from the Queen’s Young Leaders Programme, an initiative that celebrates young people across the Commonwealth nations who are making strides in their communities. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan and Harry, have openly spoken about their desire to work with young people in the 53 Commonwealth nations, and they’ve made good on that promise.
The Queen and the Duchess will be joined by the Duke of Sussex for the event which will be held at Buckingham Palace, London, England. The Duke himself was given the title of Commonwealth Youth Ambassador by his grandmother the Queen in April. The event will see the monarch, who is head of the commonwealth, host a reception at her London home to present awards to her Young Leaders. By the way, both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will work both in the UK and abroad to highlight the value of the Commonwealth, and are understood to be planning a number of foreign tours to member states. The upcoming event will hopefully give the young Duchess further opportunity to cement her close bond with the Queen.
